sunday woking

just got back from work!!!
work??? on a frikkin sunday???
yeah baby... on a frikkin sunday....

sunday is the day when i die and go to heaven. but today was crazy. crazy family thing happening, and then work.... the tapping of the keyboard keys is deafening me by the second. being a software engineer one actually get used to the cherry keys jabbing all day in your head.

i wish i could be langda tyagi of his own fame. to be honest i like guns as good as my computer. in fact i like the guns more than anything. i swear by God that i would own one as soon i have a reason to (else you do not get a license for one).

a distant second is a red ferrari. God be kind please, and enough is enough!!!

so basically my job does not suck as much as i say it does. i have a few pictures of my new workplace. fish them around...

PS: i found today a picture of a guy kissing a chic (hottie) who sits a few yards ahead:) that too on a shared drive. this is my idea of working on sundays... (i was NOT snooping!!!)

but no more...10 months

that my grandmother has been away from me. not that she's going to come back ever.
one day she left home and the homies to travel and reach a place far far away. where everyone stays in harmony. nobody falls ill. there is enough money there. and you can sleep as much as you want.

i was a kid, barely 6 years old when my mother used to drop me to my granny's house every saturday morning. my mother is a working woman and i couldn't hold my head then.
my grandfolks have their own gurudwara in delhi cantt. my mom used to shoo me into the sacred home as early as 6am when my grandpa used to read out the scriptures to please more of himself. a lot of people from the surrounding places were regular visitors especially the 60+ retired types. my favourite spot was close to where my grandmother used to sit. most of the times i used to snuggle up and sleep there like a pup.

on our way back, she used to feed the dogs with the prasad from the temple. the mere sight used to stun the hell out of me. i always thought that dogs had a timer fit into their pyramid shaped heads which buzzed exactly when my granny was about to walk out. this scene reminds me of a short story by my favourite author Kushwant Singh.

breakfast @ home used to be my all-time favourite half-fried eggs, sunny-side up with crisp toasts and butter. lunch was all about black daal, ultra-thin chappatis and truckloads of gajar ka halwa. exactly @ 4 was tea time. but wtf? i get milk and *** cookies. (*** is the secret cookie name that would never leak).

and then i grew up to forget her. saturdays were all about movies and friends. suddenly i vanished for a few years from her sight. it was engineering time. each time i was back home from college, she would call to check on me. the best part was when she used to call me; she would just clear her throat over the phone and let me recognise her voice in the first go ALWAYS.

then one (un)fine day she fell ill. very ill. we took her to the hospital. and then.... just in a few days time she was all OK. it was a saturday when i was supposed to get her discharged and take her back home. the nurse gave her an IV shot. suddenly she started feeling unconfortable. she was shaking like tin-house in an earthquake. i saw her stick out her toungue as though she tasted something bitter like hell. i rubbed her feet till the streacher was pulled along with the oxygen kit. she was rushed to the ICU.
there had been an overdose. an overdose of life. an overdose of love maybe. the doctors said that there was a lot of CO2 accumulated around her brain. she stayed inthe ICU for almost 4 days, drowsy like a dopehead.

she had a weak heart which kept sinking by the second. finally they put her on a "life support system". they basically stick a pretty broad pipe up your throat till about a few inches above the lungs. i saw her for the first time on this gadget. thought to myself: why did we make this stuff? is this the technology that we need. i still see blood dripping down her mouth when she was totally unconcious. i stood there wiping off each and every drop. weeping like an orphan. helpless is all that i was. just a day before i had asked her if she felt like having grapes. her last words for me were "jo teri marzi, beta" (whatever you please, son). and that was it. the family and the doctors decided to take the support system out. i slept in the hospital on a bench that night. at 6am i asked the guard in the ICU to let me see her one last time. he simply refused. i did not argue. because from deep within i could not see her.

10am she was brought back home in an ambulance. everybody waited. my brother had also flown in by now. they put her on the bed. and then... the doctor declared her NO MORE.
it definitly sounds filmy, but my eyes are welled up even now.
there was mourning in the air. i saw very closely the thin line dividing life and death. washed, clothes changes, wrapped in a colored cloth, placed on a steel board a few men lifted her high. the load of a mother was too much to handle.
the cremation ground was another astonishing place for me. gathering the woods, setting them up and arranging for all other stuff was a very robotic job for most ofthe 60+ guys. they know their final beds well enough. she just had 4 daughters and 2 sons who were apparently killed on the train from pakistan during 1947. so that leaves her with 10 grandchildren from 4 daughters. we are 5 boys and i stand third from the top. due to family differences she wished that the eldest of her grandson should never touch her when she's not breathing. but then it was time to do IT.
i pleaded God to give me the courage to ask my cousin to hand me the fire. i told him softly what she had wished. and finally, the final rights were performed. i saw her fuse with the sand. i felt her touch. that was surely a love pyre.

i still see her besides me @ times. i can speak with her.
but...

10 past 10... P(fukkin)M

it's fuckin' 10pm. i am still @ work. doing nothin!!!
what the fuck am i doing here??? maybe i am too tired to drive 45 kilometers back home. should i just go off to sleep here??? but i do not have my toothbrush with me. if i can not brush my teeth first thing in the morning then i would rather prefer to die... i feels so eowwww...

it is my friends birthday today. he's in the sixth grade. shreyas is my family doctor's son. he is a very cute, negtected kid. i like him NOT because that was my past. i like him NOT because he is neglected. i like him NOT because he is dark and fat. i like him because he likes me. i can see the fondness each time i see him. i feel like mentoring him. in fact i am doing it passively. he feels bad because i am @ work and not celebrating with him.

the truth is that i am waiting for my BOSS to get free. i am supposed to drop him home. his wife has taken his car. i am staying NOt to impress. he's an amazing guy. in fact he is from my last organization and responsible to get me here with him. i have seldom come across bosses with a good sense of humor. my last boss was such a prick, i could kill that son of a BIATCH. in fact i almost did. my vertical lead is another guy i really like. he's quiet a motivator.

enough about men.... let's hop to my favorite sex. women!!!
i met a few pretty ladies here today. in fact one of them is quiet a stunner. i left no stone unturned. i have their numbers (gained access by professional requests... respect my honestly atleast)
so there is a lot of scope for advancements. i have faith in myself. i guess that's the only thing that might hold me back here.

ADIOS people....
watch out for more !!!

PS: the spellcheck aint working... please DO NOT comment about the spelling mistakes.
"respect the feelings, not the spellings !!!"

if you have the fuckin' spirit, tow my car. loosers cant afford the cranes. all they can, is carry pins.
i hope i get to poke one of them with these needles in their brains.
we have shifted to the new building. the parking is a BIG pain in the tush. i had just parked as close to the pavement as possible. in the direction of the running road. but still they need something. the big baaps of the organization aint ready to take care of the policewallas. get our asses on the roll. i got laid just because i work hard and i stay late till midnight. all the other undeflated rascals are the ones who rush home on/before time each day. grrrrrr

i pledge to trash on of these UP uncles as soon as i find a good opportunity(read lonely road) .

unbeatable!!!

sine wave~~~~~~~

my day today was a wondrous example of a perfect sine wave.
it surely wasn't blended, because my emotions were @ their peak, all the time. good, bad or ugly....
the started off @ a good note. i drove to work with my buddy from college days. wonderful chappie. in fact he is my lonely weekend dinner partner. we also play tennis and squash together @ the club. he was being interviewed @ my organization today. undoubtedly, he cleared all the rounds and was offered the job. i am more than happy for him today. the icing on the cake is that he gets a good package. ahhhhh... anything better than mine, is defined good.
this could never piss me off, but something was killing me from within. there is something in the air that aint fair to me. the last 3 months have been traumatic. there have been times when i have felt that i might plunge into depression. then immediately i tell myself... "you must be kidding dude... depression and me. no way!!!"

I DO NOT BLAME ANYBODY FOR MY CURRENT STATE.
i screwed up. so it's me who has to unscrew... only if wishes were..........

money is not what i crave for. it is just the damned figure. it's like my report card. i don't stack up the greens anyways. all that i spend on is food, clothes and lil bit fun. no coke, no grass, no # and not even alcohol... it's been ages i've touched any of this.
but i still need more. i have been called "greedy"... i hate this word as much as i hate the word looser . the mixed reaction was a bit funny. i was happy and pissed at the same time. so i kind of gave "the recruiter" slack and a good bit of my sarcasm. i had to went it out. she is definitely a friend here. poor thing. she called instantaneously. explained the policies(i can go on and on) of the company. she even told me that she was done with her part and it would make no difference to her anyways. and then it was about how i would end up screwing my profile. and then she finally says...
i have a feeling that she would give up explaining things to me someday. the only point i try to drive home is that something aint fair. i feel that she knows that something is definitely not fine.
but thanks for all the valiant efforts put in. i'll register you in my good book.

but now i feel good!!!
the feeling is all gone.
today i held my niece. and it was the First time. special as it can be. she's turned a month old today. she flew down to delhi with her mother. i couldn't see her when she was born. i had financial hang-ups. couldn't buy myself a return trip to bangalore. not that i can now!!!

so i escaped work exactly @4pm today. reached home by 5. felt like screaming "look who's home!!!"
but then she doesn't really know who the cool dude really is... shes definitely heard a lot about me. but still...
the first touch was fantabulous. out of this world. no words explain the feelings. i was speechless. the best thing that could happen. i gained the courage to hold her. one hand on her bum and the other held the back of her head high shouted my mom. i tried to sway her left and right like they do in the movies. was i good??? she just fell asleep. :)
so she basically likes me more than any of the guys around in my house. i knew that this bond would come up. sooner the better. the best part was when i tried to touch her palm. she instantaneously clasped my little finger. i could feel her say "take me out for a ride!!!". i smothered a smile while shooing away the single tear that trickled down my eye.

i forgive everyone. i forgive myself.
i still need more money... to buy her a doll...

desi macbeth

i had heard a lot good about this movie from a lot of people with an appetite for unconventional films. i am myself a person of charms and off-beat cinema.

wondering i was, all throughout... how could you enact a shakespeare in hindi??? i laid my hands on OMKAARA... fell in love in love with "langda tyagi'z" character. he had so much of substance. moved the screen single-handed(read legged).

i did pull the threads together. the common link was vishal bhardwaj. it's his wiki.

sunday evening was really cranky. i called up my movie-guy. asked for the ninth season of F-R-I-E-N-D-S... dude didn't have it. i spotted "MAQBOOL" on one of the shelves. BANG-on. picked it.
NO REGRETS!!!

worth every single second.

i had a special reason to be impressed by this movie. it was once in primary school and once when i was in my college, that i was a performing Macbeth.
the performance @ school is the one i'd like to forget. i played Lady Macbeth. not the i was woman sexy, but because of my long hair and lack of opposite sex (to mine) there. disadvantages of long hair and studying in a boys' convent. i was nicknamed "bitch" ever after.

college was fun. we were game for the youth fest in SHIMOGA... i decided to be the prompter (keeping into consideration the fact that harprieth was playing Macbeth and fateh Duncan...).
it was the best thing that could ever happen to me. i still remember harpreith yelling in his sleep "hail, hail, hail to thee"...

back to MAQBOOL aka desi Macbeth... a story of lust, power, wisdom, seduction and reverberating self-punishment. a must watch !!!

if you like it, ask me for 2 more flicks that would drive you wild!!!
till then..."get transported to the threshold of pain and redemption hitherto unknown to this world"

~~~ face my muzik ~~~
i decided not to grow-up on my music ages ago...
listening to the same old stuff just doesn't bother me. all i do is burn the cds for my car with the same old songs, with a few additions from here and there. but majorly those 50-60 odd songs just don't go away...
i decide yet again to sit back and analyze and find out the reason.... my taste according to general opinion is good. then is it that i do not adapt to new stuff??? no, i like all the new stuff that plays around me. then????????
i guess, it's like the same thing that i have for my car. i might take my buddy's car for a tester, but @ the end of the day, i just want to drive my babe back home.
i guess i'll make a good husband (can't say a boyfriend, 'coz i don't even remember the number of times i have screwed up on relationships *devilish grin* hehehe).
coming back to my music... i just don't graduate. to throw some light and flaunt my taste... in rising order of my liking...
where did you sleep last night (fantabulous) (nirvana)
come as you are (nirvana)
heart-shaped box (nirvana)
penny royal tea (nirvana)
stairway to heaven (led zepplin)
november rain (g'n'r)
sweet child o' mine (g'n'r)
blaze of glory (bon jovi)
bed of roses (bon jovi)
you give love a bad name (bon jovi)
don't wanna miss a thing (aerosmith... ost of armageddon)
pour some sugar on me (def leppard - live acoustic)
wonderwall (oasis)
with arms wide open (creed)
deeply dippy (right said fred)
pretty woman (ost pretty woman)
iris (goo goo dolls)
more than words (xtreme)
burning a cd without the listing mentioned above???? i'd rather choose to die !!!
let me know what all you like... maybe i'll try something new... someday!!!
the recruiter...
this post is dedicated to "the recruiter"
i have been acting like an ass ever since i joined my new organization. i do this whenever i get something that i don't want. my current job is nothing more than serendipity. like they say...
"shit happens !!!"
ask my soul to understand how cruel i have been to my current organization. but then they still hired me. they knew that they weren't my first choice. but still.....
this was just a back-up for the mumbai war saga. i never thought that i would actually end up here. i remember my mom getting all emotional a day before i was leaving for mumbai. she asked me in a low voice "why don't you join these noida guys?". i was on my toes to tell her that i'd rather choose to die.
and here i am. a liar to the core. not dead, yet working for them. hawww....
the distance kills me. i drive almost 90 kilometers each day. my earnings are not helping be bear this pain. i don't save a penny more than my last job @ noida. what i miss is a lavish trip to UK that was on the cards this year end.
give me a reason to carry on... at least one.
all's bad i agree... but then i have found an amazing aspect to this organization. people are very different. at least the kinds that i have made friends with.
i told the "the recruiter" that i have been really impressed by the way she sold her organization to me. there would be a reference in one of my previous posts.
i was really taken aback by reply. she told me that one could only sell something if (s)he really likes it.
for a moment i thought that she is being paid like hell. and i am sure that she is....
she called me the "cribbu king".... because i, forever keep cribbing about the salary package that i am taking home.
please, for once , step into my nikes (size 9). you don't switch a job for fun. i have a career going down the drain. i need to balance my work with the money. i am under immense pressure because this damned world expects me to do more. every frikkin' day... they are not bothered if i know AJAX or not. they just want to see me in a big red car. wtf???
the only problem is that i care. and yes i do. i am bothered about what the world says. and right now they are not happy, just like me.
but the only thing i am happy about is to see the way these people enjoy their work. all of them seem to be a cool bunch of college hangiez.... and they are all very helpful and sweet. especially "the recruiter". i like people who like their work.
i hope i like myself someday.
8 things about me...
  1. i am color blind. it is specifically red-green color blindness where it gets a bit difficult to distinguish one from another. this is the only form of color-blindness which occurs. it's totally downloaded from one generation to another. i suck with the ishihara cards. get yourself tested @ http://www.toledo-bend.com/colorblind/Ishihara.html now!!!
  4. i am always ready to lock horns with a person twice my size when it's about DIGNITY and when it comes to LIZZARDS, i can pee in my pants. screw the dignity!!!
  5. i desperately want to go on a vacation to Pakistan.
  6. i am a software engineer and my expertise lies in JAVA and related technologies. i hate it to the hilt.
  7. i am smooth talker.
  8. i cannot live without workinh hard. pain is my sadistic pleasure.... both physical and mental. i cant say that i like it, but it surely satisfies me in some way or the other!!!
blended day...
i have been off bloggong for quiet sometime now. i need not apologise to any frikkin looser here for the same. i am sure you weren't missing me.
i have had a weird day.
first of all i never wanted to get up in the morning. the slight october chill prevents me from doing it. my blanket is a bliss at that time. and to top it all, my workplace sucks. we were shifting to the new office @ sector - 59 today. all the more reason to sleep another 15 minutes. now i drive 45 kms one way. i have started drifting away from my two top notch passions in life... my car and driving the same. each day when i start off to work, it feels that i am off to my bi-annual visit to motherland punjab. the only difference is that i do not carry coke and gum with me.
finally when i reached my new office today, i realised that there aint no parking space. sucks!!!
anyways, i did manage somehow.
i walked into my new workplace, just to be astonished beyond imagination. it was fantabulous. inexpecible. a wonder sight.
my materialism talks when i say that i have starder enjoying my work only today. i'd prefer a tattered levi's anyday to a custom-made pair of neat linen trousers.
all in all, i had a superb day at work. reading about AJAX (it's a rocking technology), checking out the new building, coffee machines, printers, fones and the ladies.
i have spotted 4-5 beautiful women who would now keep me engaged for the next few days.
i know i suck...
i started off for home at almost 8 pm. in fact i was supposed to reach a punjabi restaurant called "the Dhaba". my folks wanted to treat a few of their friends.
so why the fuck was i needed there??? ask them...
sucks BIG time!!!
the food was nice. the service was horrendous. the captain was out of his senses. son of a biatch!
i decided not to tip him... i do that pretty often. ill service no tip. but mind you, i have tipped the waiters green and yellow at the roadside dhabas. all you gotta do is talk sweet and get good food on time. i hate smart asses... like the bastard today.
now it was time to take the tab. like a good boy i call for it. total... 3401/=
i gave myself a develish smile. i thought that now i wouldn't even have to play around with the change. so NO tip today.
i pulled out 6 gandhis and 4 smaller greens. 3400/= and closed the book.
i knew what was exactly going to happen next. the dude comes over and tells me that the tab is Re. 1/= short...............
WHAT THE FUCK????
he was a dead man serving. i swear i could have killed him with my bare hands. i felt like strangling him to death right there and then. he pissed me off only when he flashed the bill in front of my guests.
i feel like going back and killing him now....
the manager was called. my pitch is always to know who the owner is... it makes a lot of difference. i called for the captain and asked his name. he knew what was coming his way. i walked out and saw the 2 managers at the reception. blew the shit out of them. tore one take away menu at his face. i knew that he was helpless.
i do not know if the captain guy would loose his job or not, but i sincerely don't care this time.
and then the icing on the cake. my dad's friend tells me that quitting bombay was a wrong decision on my part.
what the fuck (again) is you problem you looser???? see the number of boys your daughter is humping each week. mind your own fukkin business. it's easier saidthan done uncle. please get out of my life and get one of your own.
so the jist is that the last 3 hours nullified for all the joy that i've had today. God knows His balancing act pretty well.
i hate these fukkin uncles and their bitchy wives. screw yourself for all that i care.
leave me alone.
cha-cha in the making...
it is soon going to be a BIG day for me. i am just on the verge of become an Uncle (cha-cha).
sounds cute. soon enough i am going to carry a baby in my arms. tiny fingers and tiny feet. eternal bliss.
the coolest feeling would be to know the little kid waiting anxiously for me. to fetch HER dolls.
her???
well, that's my prophecy. i am sure about it. there's no second thought. i can say that i dremt about it.
a baby girl.
an angel in arms. coming our way.
i can picture my brother rushing up and down the maternity ward anxiously. he cannot bear pain as it is.
i wish God to give my sis-in-law the strength to bring another life into this world. life worth treasures.
i wish to keep this post intact and show it to my neice the day she doesn't understand how cool i actually am.
my mother would be flying in another few hours to be by their side. dad flies tomorrow. what about me???
i want to go now. i had promised them. i need to ask for leave. bullcrap!!! i'll take it anyways.
i am not dying anymore. :-))
obituaries to self...
feels like my life has come to an end...
first of all i'd like to thank God for giving me all that i have. then my folks for getting me into this BIG bad world. being by my side after each time i screwed up. bro and raman for trying to get my out of shit all the times. chandan for being a good buddy. my skool for making me a gentleman. my college for making me an engineer. my hostel for the devil that resides within.
all the lovely women, for all the lovely times.
guys, friends and countrfolk... it's time for the rockstar to R.I.P.
i can see them waiting for me to get done with my final post. they were navy blue gowns. like the reapers their eyes can see me. eyes that talk. ask me to come along myself. ask me not to resist.
it was just yesterday that i was having a good time @ the stellar gymkhaana greater noida. we had a team building training. we had to be in the sun regularly alternating it with chilled meeting rooms.
i had shitty food. the water tasted like never before. yukkkk
and when i was on my way back home, i had given up. saoring fever took me by it's stride. my stomach ached like hell in just one arbid corner. got back home to crash in no time after popping a crocin/paracetamol. after years, i slept right next to my mom. i was dying after-all.
got up early morning to rush to the loo. was that the natures call, i asked myself???
but then then mother nature has to have some decency in calling us folks... it felt like the nature calling for a tsunami once again. i was done and dead in not more than 2 minutes. still i sat on my ceramic throne, unable to get up. tried reading yesterdays newspaper. gave up mid-way.
carried myself back to my bed. just to get up again and check out the lovely tiles of my loo.
my rectum seems to have developed a direct connection to my mouth.
my dad suspects, DENGUE!!!
what the fuck???
no. not me.
in fact if i was down with dengue it might as well be cool. everybody's gonna be so concerned. the lovely ladies especially. my fone would just not stop ringing. my old office buddies might broadcast en email to all the employees, requesting B+ blood donors (for the extra cool, sexy and hot ex-employee who was fighting death @ some cool hospital).
ginni puri/shailaja girdhar might wake up then. they would surely want to know if i was still hanging on.
i don't want to die...
my stomach aches while i punch my keyboard. father, nature is all set to dehyderate me.
i want to listen to my favourite music.
still i hear a string of bubbles pop in my tummy.
my kingdom awaits me folks.
i would like to go.
just couldn't resist my second post of the day...
laid my hands on some old pics. they make a good post all thogether.
this one was taken after the fifa world cup 2006 final. italy had emerged as rockstars. zidane had to go down badly in the last game of his career.
but the most important was my birthday treat. coincidently my birthday falls on the same date every year but the treat was delayed this year by a week. it was happening @ the superstars noida. one of the places that had the license to serve booze till the game end. we were almost 40 people out of which 15 were on my tab. it was a game par excellence. i could write an epic on it.
on your right is the speed-o-meter of my car @ 3:30am after the game.
temperature: looks fine. it was a cool night.
speed: 50km/hr. totally under control.
fuel: almost empty.
after the trip to chandigarh...
we took just one break to pee. vishal had guzzled a couple of coronas by then. this was pretty close to my house, next to an mcd bin. looks like an independent candidate being washed off his sins.
this is my best ex-office buddy. as he very rightly says...
"hazaaron khwaishein aisi, ke har khwaish pe dumm nikle...
badeE nilke mere armaan,lekin fir bhi kam nikle.
nikalna khuld se aadam ka sunte aaye the hum lekin,
badeE be-aabru ho kar tereE, koocheE se hum nilke"
the eternal bliss!!!
i am refreshed.... for a change i am @ work and not feeling sleepy. i feel like a packed Duracell. charged to the brim.
i have reasons for it. yesterday morning i decided to reach my workplace on time. i really wanted to avoid the traffic and was also craving for something new... so out i came with a rocking idea to pull my bike off it's stand.
after wiping the thick layer of dust that had accumulated under the cover, it tried to kick start it. the fuel didn't start burning till i pulled the choke.
so off i was vroooooming @ 80-100 kms per hour. the best part is that it takes me not more than 40-45 minutes to touch noida which is a good 35 kms run. as soon as i reached work i realized that i was feeling a bit dirty here and there. especially my eyes get really cranky with the persistent trachoma that i suffer from. so i had to wash up a bit before hitting my keyboard.
work was not much fun. another boring day where i keep moving all around noida when i should be found seated and reading the design documents handed to me. i decided to get up @ 6:15pm to start my voyage back home via gk-1.
i gave up the intermediate halt without a second thought keeping in mind my physical condition. i had started feeling very tired and my shoulders were soon going to give up. would this have been my old organization i would have abandoned my bike in the parking lot and taken a cab back home. but that was not the case. so i took off via the toll road. i was almost dead when i had touched the aiims flyover. i gave up @ hayatt. stopped by the footpath under a tree. it was pretty dark. put my baby on the side-stand. sat on the footpath with my head on her seat. pocketed the keys and in not time i realized that i had almost dozed off.
what the fuck???? what was happening??? i had no clue... i liked it. it was like eternal bliss. i held me senses once again to realize that i had a better place to sleep just 20 minutes away.
rode off again. this time my arse was giving up. why did i take my bike in the first place???
finally i reached home by 7:10pm. yelled for food. had the same even before changing my dirty clothes. and by the time it was 8:00pm i had already slept. slept to glory. i loved each single second of it. i had decided to get up at 4:00 am to read. couldn't obviously...
8am was when my sleep gave way. i was up and shining after 12 hours of astonishing sleep on a weekday. fantabulous is the word for it.
i wish i could sleep forever and ever again. sleep and never get up. 'coz getting up brings miseries to me. miseries inexpecible. miseries unwanted. miseries which i can do without!!!
i still remember the hostel days when we had exams and i couldn’t sleep due to anxiety. i used to lie down in my bed, feeling my mother's hand ruffle my hair. and then.... eternity!!!
ma.........put me to sleep...
idling @ it's best... sucks!!!
i need freedom. freedom to be. freedom from idleness.
it has been a few days that i have been here @ my new workplace and i haven't laid my hands on a good assignment yet.
there have been no pleasures. working is a habit. it is something that i like to do. being overloaded does not tire me. it just helps me plan and to be @ work on time. it helps me party harder.
i turned up @ work precisely at lunchtime. my friend was getting laid (read married) last evening. it's almost 5pm and all i have done is read a few blogs, had food, coffee and biscuits.
what a waste....what a waste
so i finally call my boss to tell him that i'd be taking off a bit early today and tomorrow. it's chandan's sister's wedding. as good as my sister's. we are the unsaid bhai-bhai types. boss was okie with it. he is a very nice person i have heard. In fact he is with all my interactions with him too.
so that bout it. i am all set to take off. lol
i feel sick doing all this. i promised balaji that i would be worth each penny that i am paid on the forst of every month. oh by the way, balaji is the very senior person who took my last interview. i liked him too.
hey balaji, i did not lie about being worth each penny. give me a nut to crack. i'll do it to perfection. mujhe kaam chahiye......
i have just recieved an email asking every employee to wear khadi tomorrow. honestly, i would have loved to do it on bhagat singh's birthday. not tomorrow.
i am a big fan of bhag singh's. the best thing i like about his pictures is his mustache. those twirls of a tiger. no wonder he did what he did. i am proud to be a citizen of the country that attained her freedom from the efforts of bhagat singh th great and others.
i guess it's time to go. i have parked my car outside the HCL building. the guards would be looking out for me like wild boars watching-out for tiny pink rabbits. i am coming you goons. to blast your asses off. that should do for my own boost. God save your child!!!
checking my wallet to pay for the toll. hate to shell out 18bucks each day just to cross a frikkin road...
okie tah....
natural offenders...
Hello World!!!
it's been a couple of days already... i have been a bit busy (read lazy).
how cool would be a speech recognition software be, that listen to what you have to post and publishes the same... hmmm
i'd be working on a similar tool that would be on for the call center of a telecom company. you make the customers speak (abuse) and the system listens to it and acts accordingly. being a tecchie, i thought that it would be just an experiment. ironically the success rate touches 98%. not bad huh?
my close friend's sister is gettin' married. i have been with him for quiet sometime now. have been busy with him too.
driving each day to work is gettin' on to my nerves. but do i have a choice??? maybe YES.
i just love that about me.
driving to work brings with it many interesting scenes along with the backache.
i spotted two U.P police thullas aka mamas aka constables. one riding a bike (delhi registeration) and the other one pillion (freeloader). the similarity: both without a helmet.
i take no time to click pictures. one of them saw me... stops right next to me @ the traffig signal and says "kay baat ho gayee??? fotu kaye kheech reya hai??? fillum mein role dilwayega kay??? TeeBee ki news mein dalwaega kay???"
dude, i was shit taken aback. now what!!!
myself: "ahem, ahem, sirji, main toh bas yuhi foto kheench raha tha... baccha hun sir, jaane do."
offender: "abe tu baccha vaccha naa hai... tharre to 5-6 saal ke ek-do baalak honge... dekh agar yeh kisi news waale ko di to tereko thaari gaadi ke number se dhoond loonga... fir kheenchte rahiyo maari fotu.."
and that was it... time to rush. these noida cops are as it is a painn in the a$$.
but then, aventure strikes again. let me click another one. hehehe and i did.
to all this was a silent observer. a donkey. just a few feet ahead. standing @ the zebra crossing. waiting for the signal to turn red again. to let the intellegent species act accordingly.
i had a silent conversation with the beast. it told me all the way... "dude, i am way better off than any of you guys here". and the mock ended with the signal turning green.
we humans are the best. we don't even repeat this to ourselves because this is well-etched in our systems.
but honestly, is it true??? may be yes. i hope so atleast.
day two!!!
kaam dhanda accha tha aaj... met my new boss. dude,looks cool. talks well. i hope i don't screw up with himTOO...
i reached @ 10:30am to be the first person present. yeh kaisa office hai???
office boy bola...."boss, aap naye hain naa.... tabhi itni jaldi aate hai. thode time mein sab theek ho jayega."
what he technically ment was..."dude, don't you understand the meaning of flexi-timings???"
awrite mahnnn... i'll take care of this shit.
there's this another small office of some sirf technologies. i remembered a friend working there. called peebee to find his number. and there was, aditya kumat jha. waiting for me. quiet a dude. i told myself... "thank God, ab lunch karne ke liye koi apni wavelength ka mila."
i hadn't stopped pondering when he told me that he was leaving for the states in a days time.
:)
ab kaa kahein bhaiyya...... sassur hamaar kismet hi phoota hai...
koi nahi.. liphe still goze aun.
chandan and sunny were @ sector 18. couldn't miss the big boys.... they were at some uncle joe's or some shit i don't recall. fukkin shady eating place. shitty pizzas and pukey salads.
theUS return dude relly like to take the tabs these days. the first thing he does is, divides the total by 45 (1usd approx)... and then..."hey guys, yaar food is really cheap in your country!!! "
'your country????'
dude, get a life... you have surely not forgotten shittin' on indian pots just a couple of years back inthe hostel when you were staying in shared rooms. a cooler was a bliss. whenever a waiter at a sidey eating joint used to ask.."sir, plain water / mineral water" you werethe first one to give him the dirty look to make him realize that a liter of water isin't worth INR 12 only.
sukker.... s.o.b
"yaar india mein roadz mein gaddhey bot hai."
yah dude... tere dimaag mein bhi bot gaddhey hai.... #asshole#
anyways.
lunch was over and so was work. i got back to read a couple of project related documents. would be working for telstra@australia. who knowz (for how long)???
finally my old xansa buddy called.... so i droveback home with him. did see my old cabmates. wanted to hug them all, but i am not the types who let's off his emotional trigger so soon.
onour way back we decided to hog on tikkiz and golgappaz. eternity!!!
i need a partner for all this. i just can't stand with all the women in their territory. i feel left out plus it hurts my jatt instincts.
call me an MCP but after that promise me to respect my honesty :)
my friend from pakistan has been supporting me very dearly through my lean patch... i thank her for it. i don't get out of these phases just to forget the people who pulled me out. i write their names in a secret payback register. i open it only when friendz ask me for an eye!!!
Jack & Jill
first day @ new workplace...
i was totally engrossed in the "train to pakistan" when i realized that it was 3am already. the alarm of my razr was set to go off at 6:05 am. shittttt i had to sleep.
and so i slept.
exactly at 5:55 am, even before the alarm went off, i woke up. feeling jittery and tired already. after all i was going to start work after a break of over a month.
felt like the 4th of july when my school used to re-open. sucked.
got ready by 8:00 am to reach noida by 9:00... when i was with xansa (my old workplace, right next to the new one), i used to like driving down. i don't know why. 32 kms one side. crazy!!!
reached office on time, just to wait for the late hr chic to arrive. so in short, she came and we met and she gave me a couple of forms to fill and then the abn amro guy came to open my salaried account blah blah blah.................
the interesting part.... lunch.
was on the house today. new joinees. bakraz... :)
the place is called cafe silicon. neat place. food is laid out in a car just like "the chor bizzare"...
the cafe had lamp posts and huge raj kumar movie posters... also a picture of kl saigal...
i have no clue, soplease don't ask questions. yes, it was the cafe of a software company.
the food was good. or maybe i was too hungry. veggie stuff. daal and paneer and rice n curd n custard..
back to induction again. most of the hr babes sucked unlike xansa's. we had a handful of them there who were undoubtedly the bombshell showstoppers. can't name them though.
all this went on till about 4:00 pm when i was finally shown me my seat and my workstation. the good part...... blogger.com, gmail.com, yahoo.com, orkut and yahoo messenger are not blocked.......
i am not kidding. it's a blessing. In fact the systems guy himself asked me to use cuteftp as much as possible...
something to live for.
quiet a few people from my old place were there.
anyways, at 6:00 pm i decided to get back home. finally.......
and yes, reached back only at 7:30
the traffic sucks. that too when you are driving alone.
a couple of my friends called who wanted to catch up, but then my feet were killing me. still are.
so now i decide to get back to my book and doze off in peace.
i am not superstitious, but i like reading my forecast by ma prem usha (sunday ht). it's so frikkin true you can't imagine.
she told me that this week i am gonna be screwed royally.
:)
that's all the face i can make.
i am tired
yet another busy weekend !!!
after my last post, i had to go again and catch up with my buddy. he is badly jet-lagged. so basically he wanted to kill my peace for it. dude wanted me to come over to his place. he cannot drive in delhi. that would be too soon. so i reached his house at 7pm something. we had a hearty chat. discussing everything from the united states to butter kaathi rolls. he wanted to go out and have some fun.
we guys met anu and isha outside the imperial. they had been covering some stuff that i am totally unaware of. dropped isha @ khan market before heading off to pandara for yet another deadly mughlai meal. i do not intend to discuss the menu at all. i might just end throwing up.
we had to drop chandan to his house at about 1am. it was his birthday. in fact it is his birthday today. happy birthday big boy. you are 25, and you suck :)
dropped anu at 1:30 am and was back just before 2. i just love these late night drives, all alone. zipping at 80 odd km/hour, windows rolled down. it's a bliss.
slept @ 5am just to get up at noon exactly. ramneet called to go out and visit the gurudwara bangla sahib. i was game because what always follows this holy visit is great food @ CP. we decided to honor the "kake da dhaba" at the outer circle. chicken curry, rotiz and coke. under 200 bucks for 2 people. keeps me smiling. the place was really shady. a dhaba in the true sense. i say that because the only difference between a dhaba and a hotel is that the dhaba would always have it's kitchen (burners) at the entry whereas a restaurant would have the same tucked into it's backyard or the terrace. interesting...
after kaka we walked upto the roadside book store next to the pvr, just to find it closed. i wanted to pick up a copy of the train to pakistan and also a core java book by some cathy sierra chic.
found kushwant's masterpiece roadside for 40 bucks. amazing. got home and realized that it's a real cheap photocopy with fontsize requiring a high powered microscope with a 20x eyepiece.
but that doesn't stop me from reading it.
that's about it for the time being....
i intend to elaborate more on CP in the coming future ... i have been asked to jot down the 10 best time-killing spots @ CP. it should be nice.
by the way... Wish me luck one and all. i start off with my new job tomorrow. let's see ho things turn out to be. i am more worried about the women there ;)
Saturday, September 16, 2006
alas.... the wheel has started moving. i could anticipate it well enough. it has been quiet a day. firstly it was shopping being a free-loader.
picked up a black polo from lacoste with a white pair of socks. i know it's a bit weird but do not ask me how.
then it was my favourite mcChicken meal combo at mcDonalds. i have virtually been living on it for almost years now.
than after some fireworks i met my school best buddy. in fact just bumped into him @ neeti bagh. he was with simmi1. both of them make a beat pair but still.... we had a light chat when i realised that it was way beyond time to pick-up my engineering days best buddy and still from the airport. dude, was getting back from the states for his sisters wedding.
so then it was the real me in my best colors behind the wheels. south-ex to the igi airport in 20 minutes. ironically, he had just left with his folks 2 minutes before i reached. so finally i had to catch him @ vasant kunj outside the Grand. it was a hearty hug. he shifted to my car when we chatted away our woes of the last 12 months in not more than 12 minutes. i had to crib about quitting bombay and he had to tell me about his sexual frustration that directly arise from the fact when he hadn't touched a woman in ages now. i do not blame him at all...
so we finally reached his house and had dinner with his folks. i just couldn't say no to the biryani and the fruit cream that followed. that would have been sheer disrespect to what i live for. at about 3 am we guys moved to the coffee shop at the intercontinental. closest option looking at the fuel gauge in my car. cold coffee was my call and he asked for an espresso i guess... chatting went on till almost 6 am when i realised that i had to be home on time last night. shit happens.... all the time :) we moved out hunting for a shell gas station to get a re-fill done. this led us to the aiims crossing to find ourselves some coke. which again led us to take a leak outside the lsr gates on our way back. we sat @ the lsr gates till almost 8 when i thought that i should be back before the crazy Delhi traffic starts gettin' crazier on a saturday morning. got home and crashed like a dog.
and here i am....
just got up. trying to find some food. satisfy my gastric desires and get back to doing what i am good at. it's a saturday evening folks. i am not a party animal but then i feel one needs to move out of his/her shell atleast once over the weekends to let the minds breath.
rejuvenate... one and all !!!
life has finally started moving
and yet again....the ball isn't rolling as ever but yes... better than before.i am coming to terms with life. every decision seems to be a hard one.
CP was as pretty as ever last evening. VOLGA is a shady place to drink but then there was something very unusual about it. the rustic table, cranky chairs, dim lights and the salted peanuts were talking about their past. the ceiling was almost 30 feet high. i did look up twice to wish that i would have been a regular at VOLGA when it would have been rocking the Delhi pub scene. that surely must have been a zillion years back. i asked for the tab... a large vodka shot: 50 bucks, soda: 20 bucks, sprite (written sprit): 20 bucks, peanuts: 20+20.... the ambience: priceless.the Delhi regulars were there. old men with their ladies. in groups of 2-4. there was this strange gentleman sitting and sipping all alone by himself. loners scare me. but i am sure he liked it.my friend took the tab. she had to use her credit card to pay. i don't blame her. it's the dilli vishwavidyalya happening to her. she wants to study again. pam studies at the Delhi school of economics. ironically she does not study anything closely related to economics:) not her fault. she's been a reporter all her life.
then we had to catch up with another one of our reporter pals. she is the happy page3 chic. she is now so used to her work that at times she feels like a p3 socialite herself. it's really interesting at times:) but then there's a lot of positive to it. i get all the passes to all the happenings in Delhi. at times (like today) i even get a couple of gift vouchers from her which are sourced from the creepy pr guys. all's welcome without a price tag.
finally i had to call it a day after having my favourite food at my favourite dhaba with my favourite guy buddy. 3 butter rotiz with loadz of butter chicken and 500ml of coke. now would this have been a dream, i would have surely cried myself to sleep after that.
work finally begins on monday. i am now looking forward to it. hope it's sunshine. i need to wash my car and my bike. if all goes well by the year end, then i'd love to buy myself a new bike. a burning desire from schooldays. a passion within. i just love that beast.
i need blessings. the weakness is going every second.
jinxed i am... jinxed i will be !!!
i am just not astonished... my life has been a roller-coaster ride ever since the day i was born.it feels nice to be the king of fuck-ups now. the most unexpected can be expected from me :=) but then that's me. take me or leave me. it's a package deal.
it was thrilling to get a job with one of the best bankers in the industries. in fact, one doesn't get bigger than that so soon. but then it was me... mumbai for a week was one of the worst nightmares i have had since the one that helped me wet my bed in the early and late days of my teen life. it was about these two guys who were on their best to throw me off a high-rise building. i used to get up in mid-air, feeling warm (read wet).
peeing in your shorts was better than mumbai. the place sucked. no friends no home. no food no life. after all that i am composed of, i start striving with life again. still i hit a compromise. but then it was work that came on. fuckin' shitty work. someone else pees and i clean. before this day i had never dreamt of myself being a work oriented guy. it was always money that i wanted. i even used to call myself a "corporate whore". you pay me more you take me home. screw me as much till i find a new client, who again... pays me more. and yeah, the movie is not complete if i do not mention the pimps... the placement guys.
it took a lot of courage and impulsive wisdom on my part to get back to motherland, DELHI. i left a lot in mumbai. the property brokers are missing me. i even overheard one of them calling me a "murgi" when i was around his office. bastards.
my office was fantabulous. but then it wasn't meant to be. my brother always told me that this job was a springboard for me. hey bro, do not doubt your younger sib, he'll find another springboard very soon, and a better one. it's just that he's a bit low now. let him be in his shell. he'll pop out when the sun wants to shine on him:=)
now i'll be at noida for sometime. i need to relax. a rishikesh would do. or even a manali. but i need to be away from the city with my looser friends for a while. i need to enjoy life as it is and as i am. talking about loosers, it was raman who came to pick me up at the airport after i finally ended my mumbai saga day before. i had taken an international flight mumbai to delhi which landed at 2am. as expected, the tall dude was waiting in his favourite tattered jeans. ironically, it was a lollypop he was sucking on. he intends to quit smoking. his optra could take my 97kgs of luggage, all in a go. the drive from the airport was soothening. i was home. finally....
we landed at the coffee shop @ mauryas at about 3am. i had a cold coffee while he sipped his milk shake. we had an intense talk about being lonely in a foreign state. he narrated his first 2 years in the US when he was the only indian in his college. i saw his eyes flooded. he surely isn't the lonely types. i just knew what he was talking about.
so were home by 4am. dad was happy to have me home. we have now shared a chemistry like never before. it is now that i am fond of him more than anything. we have intense talks about anything and everything. i like him as a human being and it's always good to learn a couple of new things from him passively now and then. mom too was happy.
but then i still see and feel a void in their happiness. they know that something has severely gone wrong @ my end. i fucked it up somewhere. that's because i do it all the time. i know that they doubt my capability. in fact they don't, because i fuck it up all the time.
anyways, i have been weak lately. my knees have been heavy all throughout. i have been thinking a bit too much. i hope it takes a toll on me. wtf who cares man???
i met the hr lady from the place that i would be joining on monday. she has promised me some real good work. i hope it is.... even if it isn't, big shit. i do not have another option for quiet sometime.
God, please wake me up. tell me that this is a dream. a real bad one. make things the way they were when i liked them. you can't say that i didn't cherish them then. i always thanked you for it. i always told the world that this is what we really want. i was at home, playing tennis, squash, reading, having good food, with friends, my car...... fuck i had it all, with loads of happiness. fuck i have it all, less some happiness...
long time huh!!!
it's been ages i guess. i am back now, so no cribbin'.
this is the longest break that i have taken in the last 2 years. i am home for almost a week now.
feels amazing.
didn't even step out for a single minute, except to hunt for food.
it's always nice to take these Australian breaks.
take no interesting
oops...... i did it again!!! yesterday it was tonniez b'day. i forgot as usual. she doesn't wanna see my face i am sure.
we have been friends for quiet some time now. in fact she remains one of my first few friends at my workplace. we had to undergo a common induction program.
hmmmm.... i am off to Noida sector 18 market. i think that i should pick up something for her. flowers and chocolate should do. she does like chocolates i am sure.
neetz screwed it up totally. she could have told me but then as usual, like a school kid she would do anything for those good golden starts from the teachers. i hate these kids who don't stand up for friends. its not her fault. her brainz are as big as her.
i was a good student back at school. okie okie ... i sucked big time but that was just with the teachers. some of my best buddies from those days still remain.
school taught me how to make friends and live up to it. making buddies is a simple job, but gettin your butt bruised for that, priceless.
rambo and i got together when we were growing up in all aspects. we clicked in the first go.
i might have a lot of boys to talk about from my school days. don't take me wrong. it was just the boy's convent effect.
the school next door was the girl's convent. doorway to heaven.
continuing with rambo.... i liked him for what he was. genuine. he'd say it all on your face. dude has saved my arse not more than a million times. without him... i would have been so dead. i did pay back. that too big time. i was almost behind the bars for that. i hope he realises that. but then that wasn't a favour. i just had to do it. i had almost seen this huge guy almost in tears. simmi1 was his baby. some guys ad messed up with her. so we guys went up to these 'some guys' home-town Chandigarh to thrash their arses. almost got our cracks wider.
i would have write a really big one on the Chandigarh trip someday.
bye for now....
take two.... intro
i am back... mondays never sucked for me. but somehow i feel weak today. it was almost 45o yesterday. i was out at 3 in the afternoon. i was supposed to catch up with ol' buddies.
i honestly think that they were worth my heat stroke. in fact i love 'em all. i don;t think that i'd really like to compare them to frikkin 'heat strokes'..... they are worst than that... kidding again.
it was anz initiative. posh followed, though she was unwell. her intestines seemed to be screwed up. last but not the least, we had with us wanch. lost like a dodo. i know her not as well as the other two, but then she's sweet.
gotta rush...... rest in next.
take one!!!
i always wanted to do this... and here i go.
i feel that i should have started this off a long time back. but we never had blogs then. in fact i wanted to write a book then.
lol... i just looked up to see what i had written till now. my world begins with "i". just love that.
hmmmm.... it's late at work. just got done with my annual appraisal. scored a B grade. it's always the safest option.
being a software engineer definitely pays. gives you good money. neat onsite (foreign) destinations to work at (ironically they pay you even more when you are working abroad).
it's been almost 2 years now. i like it till now.
waiting for my friend to get done with his appraisal meeting. 'son of a gun' is blasting away the manager (the guy who decides the hike) like hell !!! we want more money. just love that...
we were supposed to check-out the new KFC joint at sec-18 noida. i am so frikkin hungry it's not funny.
'soupz' is my light for starting off jazzuncut.... she writes stuff, simple yet so moving.
i'll tell her i am better.
right now i am downloading java question from the internet. i have been placed on the interview panel tomorrow. freaks........
all the guys would be having experience more than what i have. but i guess i am looking forward to it. my brother tells me "go with a mind set that you have to recruit people and not reject 'em".
yah right bro. i'll try. in fact i'll have to try very hard. errr.... i guess i'll have to try my ass out not to kick them. it'll be so much fun.
i am tired. it's time to go home. my buddy doesn't seem to get enough of our boss.
bye world and thanks soupsz. i am improving already ;)
